Are you a Christian who is a writer or an entrepreneur and want to become successful and you need some encouragement for today?

Being successful comes in various shapes, sizes, and levels. and comes on its own time. It’s one thing everybody wants but don’t want to do the work to achieve it.

I am going to teach you my favorite motto to use every single day and we’re going to dive into the Word of God to back it up and to show us how to live by this motto.

I want you to say my motto right now: Giving up is not an option.

We will remain in Philippians chapter 4 to identify the four pillars of my motto: Giving Up is Not An Option. But I encourage you to find other amazing scriptures throughout the Word of God to encourage you on your journey of faith and success.

Let’s begin with Pillar One in verses 11 and 12. “Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.”

God wants us to be content in whatever state we are in first. Take a minute to be in the present. How do you feel, physically, mentally, and spiritually? If you feel sad or doubtful or unsure, it’s okay. Be in your emotions, but take it before the Lord in prayer. If you feel happy, inspired, motivated, still take it to the Lord in prayer. Do you see what you have now? Breath in your body, your family, your home, food on your table, a job, some sense of peace? Do you see what you do not have? That car you’ve always wanted. To own your own business. To graduate from school. To being a good parent or supporter. Take it all before the Lord and be thankful.

The verse tells us that “everywhere and in all things I am instructed – by God – both to be full – which means acknowledging what I have and who I am now and to also “be hungry,” to know what I want and desire and who I want to become in the Lord. And have that understanding from God that you are okay and will be okay.

Being content doesn’t mean staying stuck at where you are in life. It doesn’t mean you’re not supposed to want anything. It means do you have peace in where you are right now so that God can carry you through to where you want to be. God cares more about our internal peace that dwells within our heart more than himself. And why do I say that? Because he gave us a huge piece of himself which is his precious son Jesus Christ, to sacrifice him for the redeeming of our souls. He did this because he loves us.

Pillar Two comes from verses 7. It reads “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

God wants us to be at peace in everything we do. And we can only get that true peace through Christ. We continue with, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.”

So, in whatever state you are in, try to remain positive, think positively, be grateful and thankful for everything in your life. Then go to Jesus for the renewing of your peace.

My Third Pillar comes from verse 13 – “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

Remind yourself that with God you are already victorious. You have what you need, use it to get to where you want to be. Manifest that destination by acknowledging you need power and strength from Jesus.

My motto Giving Up is not an Option has everything to do with this verse. I believe deep down in my soul that giving up goes against God and against the Word of God. It goes against our nature. God created us in his own image which means we are the only creatures on this earth with a moral and value compass and can use these to make decisions and act on those decisions and learn from those decisions.

We are built to keep moving, physically, mentally, and spiritually. Hence why we need God’s strength. Standing in one place for too long can tire and stress you out. That’s why our doctors encourage us to exercise and to be in motion during the day. This can be applied to reaching our goals. Whether they are big or small, external or internal, that goal will not be achieved until you take action. And as God reminds us in verse 13 that once we take action towards those things, he will give you the strength to endure.

James 2:26 tells us “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”

Pillar Four comes from verse 19. “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

You know, I love how all of these verses are pointing us back to Jesus. Thank God for Jesus. Reading that verse alone removes another pound of stress off my shoulders. To know and to believe that God will supply everything I need, it makes me feel like a child again. During those younger years I didn’t have to worry about anything. My parents took good care of me. And just like them, God who is the creator of this world and owns everything can give me what I want when I need it. And give me what I need when I don’t know I need it.

The Word tells us that God is rich and he gives it freely. Those riches come in the form of blessings, seen and unseen. Seeking salvation through Jesus is the most important choice in our life. Because accepting him opens many doors. But remember when a door closes, do not give up because it means God is either protecting you from what’s on the other side or he wants to guide you into another door or he’s waiting for the right time to let you through.

When you have God as your number 1 supporter, then there is only one option in life to get you from point A to Z. And giving up is not it. Giving up what you’re doing now or love to do will prevent you from receiving the blessings God has for you.

Do not give up on anything. Yes move on if it doesn’t work out. Yes get back up if you fail. Yes, learn from that mistake. Humble your heart, mind, and soul into that peace that only Jesus gives and depend on his wisdom to guide you and his power to strengthen you.

Do what you’re good at and work for what you enjoy and believe is for you.

Declare it out loud, giving up is not an option in the name of Jesus. God wants to give you breakthroughs and miracles. You just have to trust in God and trust the process. A diamond is not formed into a shiny jewel unless it’s pressured. A building cannot be built without builders and the materials. Finances cannot grow without saving and working hard. And success cannot exist if you do not try.

Remember, Be content in where you are in life so you’ll be prepared for what’s to come.

Remember, Seek true peace through Jesus Christ.

Remember, You can do all things if you get your strength from Jesus Christ.

And Remember that God will take care of you because everything belongs to him.

And with these four pillars you have built a solid foundation as to why Giving up is not an option.

Do you have another pillar you’d like to add? Please share your thoughts below.

And be blessed in the name of Jesus Christ.
