Finished Revision of The Fairest!

I did it! Last night on June 14, 2020 by 11:50 PM, I finished the first revision of draft three of my book The Fairest!

I am so happy, I had to hug every one of my family members this morning. I jumped for joy. I gave God all the praise and thanks. I gave myself a huge smile in the mirror and said, “Good Job Quita!” I am on the road towards seeking publishing.

For every writer, completing a book is great accomplishment. It is something I have been dreaming of for a long time now. But where do I go from here? My end goal is for this book to be published, and after doing research all these years, I’ve learned that the journey has only just begun.

I am an editor and proofreader, however, using my services on my own work is a No No. I will definitely be bias or overlook something. One tip I learned from other authors is to seek a professional editor. I will be checking out online workshops, associations, freelancers, and sending inquiries to publishing companies to search for someone who enjoys fantasy fiction and knows how to edit large documents.

At the same time, I am hoping to recruit beta-readers to read the book and give honest critiques and feedback. I cannot wait to hear what others have to say about The Fairest and identify all the good and bad kinks for me to review and possibly rewrite or exclude.

Also at the same time or at the end of seeking an editor and beta-readers, I will submit inquiries to various publishing companies. It would most likely be companies that had published books I’ve enjoyed reading and I feel meet the standards of my book. From research, I’ve learned this is the most tedious part of trying to publish a book, but it is worth it once you’ve hooked a pub company.

So I have challenges to come, but I will not give up. I am going to trust in God, knowing he will guide me along this journey. I consider The Fairest as my heart and my child at this point, so God knows how important this means to me. Jesus will never let me down. I look forward to this next step in publishing my book. Keep me in your prayers and remember, never give up on your dreams!
