Authors I Recommend

I enjoy reading. It’s one of a writer’s favorite things to do. Here are a list of my favorite authors who inspires me to continue writing. Tell me what you think so far. Give me some of your favorite authors and I will check them out. They might make my list!

Mary Lu Tyndall

M.L. (MaryLu) Tyndall dreamt of pirates and sea-faring adventures during her childhood days on Florida’s Coast. After obtaining a degree in Math and working as software engineer for 15 years, she decided to test the waters as a writer. With now more than fourteen books published, she makes no excuses for the deeply spiritual themes embedded within her romantic adventures. As a follower of Christ, her stories often reflect her own journey and walk with God. Her hope is that readers will not only be entertained but will be brought closer to the Creator who loves them beyond measure. In a culture that accepts the occult, wizards, zombies, and vampires without batting an eye, MaryLu hopes to show the awesome present and powerful acts of God in a dying world. A Christy award nominee, MaryLu makes her home with her husband, six children, and four cats on the California coast, where her imagination still surges with the sea.

My Note: I am a religious person myself so I enjoy it when people express their beliefs in fiction novels. Her books have captivated me more than once. She is a successful author who I would love to meet one day. There is nothing better to write about than about the goodness of Jesus Christ.

Libba Bray

Libba Bray is the author of the acclaimed A Great and Terrible Beauty, Rebel Angels, and The Sweet Far Thing. She lives in Brooklyn, New York.

My Note: If you love fantasy, magic, and romance- this is the lady you should go to. Her Gemma Doyle Trilogy was amazing with the sexy Indian and the old England lifestyle of dresses, balls, and handsome suitors. She is also a hilarious author and a people’s person.

Bryan Litfin

Bryan Litfin grew up in Dallas, TX; Oxford, England; and Memphis, TN. He earned a degree in print journalism from the University of Tennessee, a master’s degree in historical theology at Dallas Seminary, and a Ph.D. in the field of ancient church history at the University of Virginia. He now serves as Professor of Theology at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL.

My Note: Overall, he has worked his way to the top of my favorite author’s list and that is rare! His Cheveis Trilogy is AMAZING! It’s heart wrenching, God overpowered, spiritual transforming type of trilogy. He not only brought out the importance of our believe and trust in God but he did it through two characters in an apocalyptic world forcing you to fall in love with them and have the feeling of being right there in their presence. I have never read a book like this before. Jesus is good. I love it when people can convey the Word of God through fiction novels.
