Scripture: 1 Peter 5:8, Psalm 121, Hebrews 13:5, 2 Timothy 1:7, Isaiah 41:10, John 14:1
Today we are facing a global pandemic on the top of the rise of violence, hardships in our lives, in our health, in our families, and even in our jobs. There are so many factors that play a role to discourage us, make us lose hope and a sense of dignity, and to forget we can be happy in a time of trouble. The one to blame for this is known as the adversary, the devil. The devil wants to break your spirit so you would lose faith and trust in yourself and in Jesus. He doesn’t want you to seek Jesus for help. He’d love for you to fall deeper and deeper into that dark hole of depression and hopelessness so you could believe there is no one in this world or in heaven who can save you from this.
The Word of God tells us repeatedly who we can go to. If you are in darkness, Jesus Christ can bring you into the light. He can be the peace that touches your heart, your soul, and your mind and have you remember you are important to this world and to him. You have a purpose. Your trial will not be forever if you continue to trust in God. Stay encouraged in the Lord and he will be the rock that will keep you from drowning.
Whenever you are feeling low, turn to the Word of God for your inspiration and encouragement. There are plenty of beautiful scriptures, chapters, and stories that provide great relief along with information on having a healthy mental, physical, and spiritual life. Psalm 121 is a great psalm to read and to recite when you are in need of encouragement. This psalm reminds us where all our help comes from which is from God. He does not slumber and he is the keeper of those who believe in his amazing power. All power belongs to God. So nothing can smite you or bring you down when you have Jesus by your side.
God tells us throughout the Word that we should not fear man or Satan or anything. This is because he will never leave us nor forsake us. (Hebrew 13:5-6). Remember God’s many promises to his people and allow that to comfort you and put you spirit at peace.
God does not want his people to feel like we are alone. God gave us Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit for the main reason to be with us 24/7. You can pray and commune with God any time you desire. At work, at school, in the park while walking your dog, in a special place in your home, or while shopping. God’s presence is everywhere and his phoneline is never busy.
So always remember to stay encouraged in the Lord. He wants what’s best for you. Remember if you are happy, satisfied, and thankful, then God would feel the same way too.
Be blessed in the name of Jesus!
